At the manor of Gammel Estrup you will find the very special Chineese room with beautiful framed canvas wallcoverings from approx 1720
The framed wallcovering is specially designed for this room and fits exactly from the panel to the ceiling
This wallcovering is so very special that half of the panels has been removed into the National Museum of Denmark
The canvas is painted with many different techniques, witch gives it a unique and vibrant look
When inspected closely the background of the paintings will surprise you
A special paste was applied by hand, then gilded and then painted
Here you can see the gilding combined with the painting on the canvas
Zilmers was inspired by this unique wallcovering and revitalised it to a contemporary look of today

Mosaics by Zilmers is a collection of minature canvas wallcoverings, that can be combined in your own composition again and again.
Each canvas is 20cm*20cm
Each mosaic is handmade with the special technique from 1720
and then covered with Gold, Silver or copper
Luxurious, vibrant, historical, contemporary and minimalistic.
